Studio Policy for 2007

The Music Studio consists of the Fall (mid-August – December), Spring (January – May), and Summer (June – mid-August) semesters.  Please follow the calendar provided by Ms Mei Music Studio.

Students must commit to the entire semester.  Termination of lessons during the semester is only acceptable for extreme situations such as illness, moving out of town, etc.  Any student deciding to terminate music lessons should give a 30-day notice.

All students who are currently enrolled in lesson at Ms. Mei Studio will be given first priority in scheduling.  Any student has withdrawn from lessons and later wishes to return, the student will be scheduled after current students have given priority in teacher choice and lesson time.

There will be a recital at the end of both the spring and fall semesters.  The purpose of the recital is to allow students to demonstrate what he/she has learned in theory, techniques, and artistry.  The recital serves to encourage and to motivate students of all ages and levels of study to musicianship in piano/clarinet performances.  The recital will not only provide an opportunity for the students to perform, but will also help students set short and long term goals.  The date and time of the recital will be announced as the semester progresses.

Missing Lessons

If notice is provided 48 hours prior to a missed lesson, the lesson will be rearranged to any available time slot or won’t be assessed a lesson fee.  If no such notice is provided, a make-up lesson will not be given, and the student must pay for the lesson.

All lessons missed due to inclement weather or missed by the teacher will not be assessed a lesson fee.
